Announcement: DS9 Server will be down from May,30th 21:00 till May, 31th aprox 6:00 CEST PDF Print E-mail

Announcement:

Xantron GmbH and Co. KG is moving to their brand new own Serverroom in Borken Germany. Since all servers are in Düsseldorf at the moment they have to shut them down, move them to Borken and bring them back online. From Düsseldorf to Borken are aprox 200 km.

The work is estaminated to start at Friday, 30th May at 21:00 and should be finished at Saturday, 31th May at 6:00 CEST.

Xantron invested in the latest technology to ensure a stable, fast and secure operation for the next years. New functions like rescuesystem and instant reset will come soon to complete their portfolio. (To enable this functions there will be another downtime of ds9.)

In the above time window you will not be able to:

  • connect to ds9.solidirc.com
  • use the SolidIRC Services

 

If you need help in that time please ask an IRCOp to assist you.

SolidIRC Website moved to a new Server PDF Print E-mail

Hello everybody,

i want to tell you, that SolidIRC is getting a new Infrastructure. This means in detail that we just got new DNS Servers and that our Website and Forum moved to a new Webserver. The DNS Infos may need up to 48 hours to be visible to everyone of you. So if you have a Problem connecting to the IRC Servers, please try to use one of the following IP Adresses:

ds9.soliidrc.com = 78.31.71.67
starfleet.solidirc.com = 83.246.120.103

30 Hours downtime of DS9 PDF Print E-mail

Hello Everybody,

our Main Server DS9 was offline for aprox. 30 hours. The reason for this downtime was, that a serveradministrator from an other server in the Server Room from our provider claimed our IRC IP Adress. This resulted in not beeing able to connect to the server for that time. The Support Team at Xantron Online found out wich other server tried to use our adress and repaired its config.

Since yesterday evening (20.02.2008 - ~17:00 CET) everything is back at normal operation.

Xantron discovered the Reason for the many Netsplits in the last Month PDF Print E-mail

Hello,

i just phoned to Xantron Online and they told me, that they have discovered why the server lost the Internetconnection so often in the last 4-6 Weeks. The Reason is an intermittent failure in a Backbone Router. After some research they found the Router and will replace it tomorow. Xantron online told me, that it would only take a few seconds to switch over to the new router. But i think we will have one or more netsplits tomorow while they're working on it.

Im sure, when they finished their Work, we will get back our normal stability and much less Netsplits ;)

Hello,

yesterday evening we had a big Netsplit because our Provider Xantron Online had problems with the electric power suply of their data center. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.
