Dear Users,

besides our fight against the stability issues, we're adding new features to the network. The last feature was the creation of social network graphs as an addition to the known statistic service. And today i want to announce the rebirth of our newsservice.

Over 6 Months ago, our staffmember phrozen77 used the channel #news to run an irc bot, wich collects news from various sites via RSS feeds, and posts them into the channel. He had to shutdown the bot because of issues with the software in combination with the huge amount of feeds. 3 Weeks ago i installed a new NewsBot as replacement and added all of his old feeds. Now, after 3 Weeks of testing i want to announce this service to the public.

NewsBot resides in channel #news and includes over 60 feeds. Every feed is checked every 30 minutes and new entries are posted. The Feeds include World News, IT News, IT Security, Lifestyle, Erotic and more.

A small word to the stability issues:

It seems that we've finally found the reason for the increased amount of netsplits after the change from UnrealIRCd to InspIRCd. I changed the corresponding settings and now it seems that the problem is gone. We are still in the testing phase and there will be tests with the potential to provoke a netsplit, because i had to disable some services on starfleet, wich i want to reactivate if possible.
