Happy new Year everybody,

the year 2007 is over. We had a good Time here at SolidIRC with a stable Enviroment compared to other networks. (Round about 50 Netsplits the whole year - aprox. 20 planned for Software Updates etc.). We switched to Epona 1.5 Series IRC Services wich brought our Users cool new Features like setting their vHost themself or let Memoserv send the memos to their eMail Account.

But 2007 had some bad Day's too. So we had to shutdown our old Homepage due to successfull hacking attempts by some script Kiddies, wich modified the Page to try to spread Viruses or Trojans to our Visitors. We allways found this modifikations fast, but it was a pain in the ass to fix the Homepage every few hours, when they found a new way to modify it. To explain this: The old Page based on PHP-Nuke, wich is maybe the buggiest and insecure CMS ever created. But we or better, i didn't knew that, when i created the Page 2004.

Okay, the 5. Year of SolidIRC is over. We hit 1 Million Site Visitors last Summer and we will work to get better than ever. As you can see, we started a new Homepage as first step to get to that goal. Okay its not finished, but we working on it. It will contain Help for Services and Servercommands. And, as soon as the Joomla Community finished the Joomfish addon for the 1.5 Series of Joomla, we will start to add Translations to the Site. Then i installed a new Message Board for SolidIRC, and i promise we will give our best to answer all Questions within 24 Hours. (The timespan will decrease when we finished the work on Page and Enviroment.)

The Future? As far as i can see, there's  cool stuff to come in 2008. Neostats is working on the 3.0 Series wich will bring you Loveserv and Moraleserv back (We switched to 3.0 a Month ago, but this feature is not Working yet.) But those two will not be alone, the new System is open and i saw a barmaid and some other stuff too. And the coolest thing is, you can get your own versions of those Bots in your Channels. You will able to tell me a channel and a name for the bot, and i will create it and send it to your Channel.
Then we will create a new cool Webchat applikation. You will be able to choose between Java Chat and CGI::IRC. Like the old Webchat we had, you will be able to use the applikation for your own Community. The cool Part is, you will be able to define how the Webchat will look. (As far as the Webchat Programs allow this.) - Define what color the site should have, wich logo is displayed or set some Links wich can point whereever you want. Nobody less than Pharx, our PHP Guru, will create this Applikation. But, to be honest, it will take time. He is very busy in his Job, so it will take some months till this thing will be finished.

Five Years of SolidIRC showed me much about people. About those who be thankfull, that a hand of us (the Staffteam) working every Day to keep this Place alive, and those, who ignoring the work and the money this all consumes, and who trying to abuse the Enviroment or the Staffteam whenever they want to or when they bored. I for myself will try to act more professional in 2008. For example i will try to talk to a User, before i will take action. But i hope, that everyone else will do the same. Please follow the few simple rules we created for the live here and everything will be fine for everyone. Thats the main Point here, or not? Everyone, including the peoples from the Staffteam and including myself want a good time at SolidIRC, we will do what we can to make it a good time for you. And we hope that you will act nice to eachother, that we can have a good time too.

Wow, a long text. And that in english. I think i never wrote a so long english text before. Okay you will find mistakes, mostly grammar or time. But hey, its much better than 3 or 2 Years ago :-)
