Q: How do I register my nick?
A: Use the syntax /msg NickServ REGISTER password email (or /ns REGISTER password email). Change the "password" into something that you can remember; the "email" part must be a valid e-mail address to which an authentication e-mail can be sent. You can retrieve the proper syntax by typing /ns HELP REGISTER as well. When you receive the authentication e-mail, you can copy in the command or type /ns AUTH code; the code is in the authentication e-mail. In case the authentication e-mail does not reach you properly, type /ns AUTH cancel, and then /ns AUTH, which will resend the authentication e-mail.

Q: How do I identify my nick?
A: Type /ns IDENTIFY yourpassword. You will have to identify your nick every time you log onto the server. You can bypass this task by using the "Perform" list in mIRC.

Q: Is it possible to have multiple nicks under the same identity?
A: You can group your nicks such that they receive the same benefits (access in certain channels). To do so, /nick change to the desired (unregistered) nick and type /ns GROUP OriginalNick PasswordofOriginalNick.

Q: How do I register a channel?
A: Join an empty channel in which you become an operator (@). Type /cs REGISTER #thenameofyourchannel password description. The password can be anything; the description of the channel can be anything as well. The help dialogue is available if you type /cs HELP REGISTER.

Q: How do I give people autoops in my channel?
A: You can use the command /cs ACCESS #thenameofyourchannel ADD nick #. The nick MUST be registered for the person to be added to the access list. The # at the end designates the level at which you are adding the person; the default numbers are 3 for voice (+), 4 for halfop (%), 5 for op (@), and 10 for sop (&).

Q: How can I get StatServ into my channel?
A: /join #solidirc and ask an administrator for StatServ for your channel; please be sure to specify the name of the channel. Reminder: if you abuse StatServ, network administrators reserve the right to block you from StatServ.

Q: How do I get a vhost?
A: Type /ns HOST SET titleyouwant.here. Custom hostnames must have at least one dot. Please note that you may only change your vhost once per month.

Q: What if I need other help?
A: You can read through the services documentation on the SolidIRC website or chat, or you can /join #help (or /join #solidirc) and ask an IRCop.
